Michał Szcześniak

One of the most talented chefs of the younger generation. He began his adventure with gastronomy at the prestigious bristol hotel, then successfully ran the kitchen at the newly established Superiore restaurant in Warsaw. He developed his skills at numerous trainings, with such chefs as Bruno Goussault, Anne Alvarado and Professor Harve This. As a member of the Polish national team, he represented our country at the Gastronomic Culinary Olympiad in Erfurt and the World Cup in Luxembourg, from where he returned with a total of three bronze medals.
In 2015, as deputy chef, he took on the challenge of co-founding the innovative elixir restaurant in the house of vodka, based on the idea of food & vodka pairing. After less than two years, he took over as head chef at the vodka house, and Elixir restaurant was awarded a Michelin star for the seventh consecutive year.

The Roots is not only a cocktail bar, but also a unique collection of historical artifacts related to the art of bartending.
First editions of bartending manuals including, among others, the Original edition of the first bartending manual from 1862 “The Bartender’s guide” with the author’s handwritten signature – the legendary Jerry Thomas, antique shakers, coolers and jiggers, or Poland’s largest collection of starka vodkas that have not been produced for years.
These are just a few of the reasons why it’s worth traveling hundreds or thousands of kilometers to this one-of-a-kind cocktail destination.
